Polish tennis players participated in the ITF World Tennis Tour for another week. This time, our gentlemen: Szymon Kielan and Filip Peliwo presented themselves very well.

In mid-January, Szymon Kielan reached the final of the ITF World Tennis Tour in Vilnius, where, after a match in two sets, the talented Lithuanian Edas Butvilas proved to be better than him. A month passed and the 20-year-old had his third chance to win his first singles championship. Our representative beat four opponents and entered the final of the event with a prize pool of 15,000. dollars in Sharm el-Sheikh.

Kielan’s rival, seeded “fourth”, in the Sunday final of the tournament in the famous Egyptian resort was Peter Fajta. Marked with a “three”, the Hungarian was aiming for a third career title in Sharm el-Sheikh. The meeting went quickly. Fajta never had to defend break points and after just 47 minutes he won decisively 6:3, 6:2. Thus, the Pole still has to wait for the first singles trophy.

Other White-Reds also joined the competition in Sharm el-Sheikh. Last week’s success was not repeated by Martyn Pawelski, who this time lost in the first round to Fajta. Michał Mikuła made it past the qualifying round, but in the main group Italian Marco Miceli proved more effective than him. In doubles, top seed Kielan and Ukrainian Wołodymir Użykowski suffered defeat in the first round. One match was won by Mikula and his Austrian partner Sebastian Sorger.

The best result in 2024 was achieved this week by Filip Peliwo. The former best junior in the world after an unsuccessful debut in Britain moved to Tunisia’s Monastir, where he was the highest seed. He beat three tennis players in qualifying, but Lucas Catarina got in his way in the semis. Marked with the “four”, the Monegasque won with the Pole 6-4, 6-0.

Two main tournament matches in Monastir were won by Maks Kaśnikowski. The Warsawian did not meet Italian Lorenzo Rottoli in the quarter-finals (3:6, 6:7). Eliminations for the event with a prize pool of 15 thousand. Jasza Szajrych, with whom Kaśnikowski later won a doubles match, did not exceed dollars. However, in qualifying for the competition with a prize pool of 25,000. Błażej Sopoliński and Marcin Żarski competed unsuccessfully in Tunisia.

Our ladies played in the ITF this week without much success. In Germany’s Altenkirchen, Urszula Radwańska passed the playoffs, but in the first round she had to recognize the superiority of Slovenian Tamara Zidansek in the first round (more here). Martyna Kubka and Gina Feistel competed unsuccessfully in qualifying.

Weronika Falkowska has decided to return to Mexico. After successfully qualifying in two stages for the Irapuato tournament, the 22-year-old lost in the first round of the main classification to Brazilian Gabriela Ce 5:7, 6:0, 2:6. Then, with the Israeli Lina Glushko, she did not win the first match of the doubles competition, because the Americans Emina Bektas and Ingrid Neel opposed.

Olivia Lincer performed this week in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In the first round, the talented Pole lost to Canadian Stacey Fung 6:7(5), 3:6. In doubles, the 18-year-old’s partner was American Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo, but Dutch seeded Arianne Hartono and Eva Vedder didn’t stand a chance.

The remaining Whites and Reds did not achieve any notable results. In Monastir, Olga Golash again reached the decisive phase of elimination, but she did not reach the main tournament. In Sharm el-Sheikh, Alicja Formella competed unsuccessfully in qualifying, and Natalia Kowalczyk in Spanish Manacor. Mikołaj Lis returned from Germany’s Oberhaching without a win. In the Portuguese city of Vila Real de Santo, Antonio failed to score in doubles Artsiom Dabryian.
