The issue appears to have affected Tesla owners in a number of countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, Denmark, Germany and South Korea.

Several owners tweeted that they were unable to start the car by unlocking the vehicle with the mobile app. However, it was possible to use key cards instead, which not everyone necessarily carries with them.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to one of the users, a Tesla owner in South Korea. The feature should be back in place now after a bad network error, Musk tweeted.

– Sorry, we will take steps to prevent this from happening again, write Musk.

In the meantime, several people had expressed their dissatisfaction.

– I’m stuck an hour from home because I usually use my cell phone to start the car, writes a Tesla owner.

– Thousands of Tesla owners no longer have access to their cars because Tesla’s servers went down two hours ago. I am among them. They said we were helping the environment by owning an electric car, but walking isn’t what I had in mind, wrote another.
