15-year-old shot dead in Stockholm – seven shots in one day

Unsuspecting families found themselves in the middle of the shooting when a 15-year-old was killed in Farsta. – A terribly dark day, says the Swedish Minister of Justice.

Two suspects have been arrested after a 15-year-old boy was shot and killed in Stockholm’s Farsta neighborhood on Saturday. Three others were shot and injured.

Two of the four were found outside a subway station, one outside a church and one in Larsbodavägen, police spokesman Towe Hägg said.

Three of the injured were taken to hospital, while the fourth died instantly, the Swedish police said on their website.

The deceased boy was 15 years old. Another 15-year-old boy is injured, while a 45-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman are also injured. According to the police, the motive for the shooting is not clear to them.

Two men were arrested after a car chase on the E4 highway.

– It was a touring car which was interesting and which we spotted and tried to stop. He didn’t leave right away and we had to follow him south on the E4. Two people were arrested, police spokesman Towe Hägg said.

The incident happened on a cleared street. Police with a dog search for clues at the scene.

The witness heard several gunshots

The description of the car matches the one seen in Farsta. Both men are suspected of murder and attempted murder and will be questioned.

It is unclear if all of the victims were targets of the shooting or if some were accidentally hit.

A witness tells Expressen that he was at the scene with his two children when he heard gunshots.

– I heard “bambambam” eight to twelve times. I heard there were no fireworks and immediately felt my heart rate increase, the man said.

He and the children sought refuge in a kiosk at the subway station.

– They shook and cried and found it very unpleasant, he said.

After the shooting, several areas of Farsta were cordoned off and the metro did not stop at Farsta Central Station for some time. The aim was to prevent the perpetrators from leaving the area, inform the police.

– A horrible day

A total of seven people have been shot in Greater Stockholm in the past 24 hours, in addition to four in Farsta, two were shot in Solna and one in Jordbro on Friday evening.

Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer said the day had been terrible.

– A terribly dark day with new brutal filming. This evening, I am thinking above all of the victims and their loved ones. The police are working intensively to bring the culprits to justice, he said.

– We will do everything in our power to reverse this development, he said.

Sweden has been hit hard by shootings. There were 64 murders committed with firearms in Sweden last year. At that time, there was an average of one shooting a day in Sweden.
