The Canadians’ semi-final rivals will be the Latvians, who are advancing to this phase of the competition for the first time. In the match against the Swedes, they took the lead in the first half thanks to a goal from Dans Locmelis. Timothy Liljegren equalized in the second set. However, the end of the match belonged to the tournament co-organizers. The second goal was scored by Miks Indrasis, and Janis Jaks scored to make it 3-1 as the Latvians had the advantage.
The decisive phase of the tournament will take place in Tampere, Finland. In Saturday’s semifinal, the Americans will face Germany and the Canadians will face the Latvians. The final and the third place match will be played on Sunday.
