The Reds prepared for a first season in the Football League after 15 years in exile by traveling to the United States to play four matches, including high-profile matches against Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United, on the east and west coast.

Fresh off securing a second consecutive promotion for the first time in the club's history, Wrexham have announced the Wrex Coast Tour 2024 where they will play three matches – against AFC Bournemouth in Santa Barbara (July 20) and Chelsea in Santa Clara (July ). 24), before traveling to Canada for the first time to face the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place (July 27).

Returning from the first tour just a week before the League Two season kicked off, Parkinson admitted it had an impact on performances as Wrexham got off to a slow start.

This time around there will be more time to prepare for the start of the League One campaign, which begins on August 10, when Wrexham return.

“Shaun Harvey obviously puts a lot of work into the tour because things don’t just happen, there’s a lot of planning,” Parkinson said.

“We learned from last year and we looked at everything.

“We've had several meetings with Shaun over the last couple of months and we're all happy with the tour schedule and we're happy with the matches in and around that.

“It will be a fantastic trip again and an incredible experience for everyone.

“The guys are going to come back earlier, we'll have more preparation before we leave and we'll have more preparation when we come back.”

Parkinson, who celebrated back-to-back promotions after Wrexham finished runners-up in League Two, is eager to get a game at the Racecourse before the Reds begin a first season in the Third Division since 2004-05.

“We are finalizing some tour matches and we are generally happy with where we are in terms of pre-season planning,” Parkinson said.

“We hope to have a home game on the Saturday before the season starts.

“It will be fantastic for us to get back to the racecourse.

“Obviously there’s work that’s going to be done on the ground this summer, so that’s important.

“We will have a match, possibly behind closed doors, before also going on tour.

“Promotion is over and the season is over, but the work is in progress because we want to make sure everything goes well.

“It’s going to be a really interesting season for us in League One.”
