It’s time for the Canadians and Italians to face off in the next meeting of this year’s edition of the Women’s Volleyball Nations League! The two teams do not have the best series this season, but they can improve their result in a direct clash.

The Canadians have demonstrated several times in this year’s edition that they can compete with the best. This was the case during the victory against Serbia (3:2) or against Poland (2:3). The problem is that the players from the country of the maple leaf alternate between good and bad matches. As an example, it is enough to cite the smooth defeats in three matches against Thailand and China.
The Italians, on the other hand, appreciated the tie-breaks in this edition. The clashes against Thailand, USA, Dominican Republic, Netherlands, China and Brazil ended in a five-set battle. It is true that most of these matches were ultimately won by Italy, but for some it will be two valuable points, and for others it will be a lost point that can determine the final ranking result.
The third week matches will conclude the regular phase of VNL 2023. The final tournament will be played in Arlington, USA (July 12-16). The top seven teams in the standings and the host team will play there.
