The first match went well for the Poles. They probably won against the Americans 3-0. And even though their team was missing almost all of volleyball’s most important players, those in attendance showed they could play. In the third set, they were close to creating a surprise, but in the end, Nikola Grbic’s players controlled their nerves better.

The next rival of last year’s Nations League winners will be the Canadian national team. Volleyball players from the country of the Maple Leafs have also already played a match. They beat the hosts of the first VNL tournament – Turkey – in four sets.
The Poles, as hosts of the final tournament, are guaranteed to participate in the final tournament in Łódź. The coach, like last year, will devote the intercontinental phase to testing the players and making available those who have had a difficult club season or one ended by injuries.
Despite qualifying for the Olympic tournament, coach Nikola Grbic stressed before the start of VNL 2024 that his goal was to win the event. This will give his players the confidence they need for the Olympics.
