The competition in the group stage lasts from May 21 to June 23, during this period each of the 16 teams will participate in three tournaments, during which they will play twelve matches. There will be six tournaments with a total of 96 matches played.

The final phase will be organized from June 27 to 30 in Łódź. The seven leading teams of the intercontinental phase will play there, with Poland as host.
The Volleyball Nations League was organized for the first time in 2018, replacing the World League organized from 1990 to 2017. The previous edition was won by the Polish team, which beat the United States in the final in Gdańsk .
