Katharina Althaus won Saturday’s Women’s World Cup in Hinterzarten. With her, Ema Klinec and Abigail Strate climbed the podium. Poland was outside the bottom thirty.

The undisputed leader on the German hill Rothaus-Schanze (HS111) was the hosts’ representative on Saturday. Katharina Althaus had the longest jump of the first round with 107 meters, which puts her comfortably in the lead. The second attempt of 102 meters sealed the victory of the vice-world champion. Slovenian Ema Klinec lost 21.2 points against her with two good jumps from 102 and 105.5 meters. Right behind her was Canada’s Abigail Strate, who was on the World Cup podium for the first time in her career. The 2022 Olympic bronze medalist in the mixed team reached 103 and 106.5 meters respectively.

There were also two Polish women at the start of the competition, who managed to face the disputed qualifications before noon. Unfortunately, none of them managed to qualify for the second series of competitions and therefore to score points for the general classification. Kinga Rajda, after a jump of 79 meters, finished the competition in 36th place. Paulina Cieślar landed 4.5 meters closer and was ranked 39th.
