Planica 2023: Althaus the best of qualifications, two Poles with a promotion

Katharina Althaus has once again shown that the World Championships in Planica belong to her. The German won the qualifying round with a 6.5 point lead over second-placed Alexandria Loutitt. Two Polish women, ranked in the fourth ten, qualified for the competition.

50 players from 16 countries, including four Polish women, competed for promotion in Wednesday’s competition at a large facility in Planica. She was the first of the Whites and Reds to sit on the starting beam Paulina Cesar. The 20-year-old reached 100 meters in her attempt, which unfortunately resulted in a 45th place finish and no promotion to the competition. This also failed Annie Twardosz, who only got 48th place with a jump of 91 meters. Two of our representatives won the qualification for the competition on the large hill. She was the best King Rajda, who after a jump of 105.5 meters took 30th place. She was ranked 35th Nicole Konderla (112m).

The German Katharina Althaus was again the best with a jump of 129 meters. Canadian Alexandria Loutitt lost exactly 6.5 points against her with 128.5 yards in her attempt. The longest jumper in Tuesday’s qualifying was Maren Lundby. The Norwegian landed 131 meters away. Fourth Eva Pinkelnig (123.5m) and fifth Ema Klinec (122m) finished just behind the podium.
