Polish tennis players participated in the ITF World Tennis Tour for another week. In Trnava, Weronika Falkowska surprised at the inauguration, but on Thursday she failed to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Three top Polish tennis players showed up in Trnava, but only Weronika Falkowska was happy with the victory in the main ranking. The 22-year-old from Warsaw had a big upset at the inauguration as she beat German seed Tamara Korpatsch 6-3, 6-3. In the second round, the Pole did not follow suit, and Barbora Palicova found her way. The 18-year-old Czech, our tennis player’s doubles partner in this competition, confidently won 6:3, 6:2 on Thursday.

After a month’s break, Katarzyna Kawa resumed competition. In Trnava, however, the player from Kryniczanka did not show her qualities. She clearly lost in the first round to Czech Tereza Smitkova 0:6, 1:6. In turn, Urszula Radwańska started unsuccessfully in the qualifying rounds. The experienced Krakow in the first phase lost to Slovak Eszter Meri 6:3, 2:6, 3:6.

Olivia Lincer decided to perform in Toronto. Initially, the young Pole beat Serbian Katarina Kozarov 3:6, 6:3, 6:3, but in the 1/8 final she was stopped by Japan’s Himeno Sakatsume (6:2, 6:1). Xenia Bandurowska stayed on the Argentinian meal in Tucuman. This time she did not score points in the singles standings, because already in the first round she had to recognize the superiority of the Argentine Chiara di Genova.

Martyna Kubka decided to go to Asia. In Astana, the Pole was eliminated in singles qualifying after losing to Sofja Lansere. Then, with Kazaszka Żibek Kulambajewa, she reached the quarter-finals in doubles. In Bangalore, India, Weronika Baszak retired in the decisive qualifying phase. In turn, Gina Feistel and Ada Piestrzyńska were eliminated in the first round of the singles and doubles quarter-finals in Antalya, Turkey.

Four Biało-Czerwone decided to start in African resorts. Karolina Jaśkiewicz and Marcelina Podlińska failed to score in Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh. On the other hand, Ewa Czapulak and Karolina Skowrońska did not reach the main ladder in Tunisian Monastir.

Only one Pole has participated in the ITF World Tennis Tour tournaments this week. However, Filip Peliwo failed to conquer the hard courts in the Portuguese city of Loulé. In the first-round match with Adria Soriano Barrera, our representative struck out 3:0 for the Spaniard.
