Australia’s Josie Baff and Germany’s Martin Noerl won the cross-country snowboarding World Cup final competition at the Canadian ski resort of Mont-Saint-Anne. In the general classification, after nine competitions, the Briton Charlotte Bankes triumphed, and in the men’s Noerl. The Poles did not start.
In early March, Bankes and Huw Nightingale became world cross-country snowboard champions in Bakuriani, Georgia.

Noerl, meanwhile, is the vice-world champion in individual competition. In the final in Bakuriani he was beaten by Austrian Jakob Dusek after an even end and a long analysis of the photo-finish. The Austrian snowboarder pushes his board forward at the last moment, literally fractions of a centimeter ahead of his rival. Italian Omar Visintin won the bronze medal.
