On Monday, the ATP ranking was released, which takes into account the results obtained by tennis players during the ATP Masters 1000 competition in Monte-Carlo. Not good news for Hubert Hurkacz, who again lost a few positions.

Last week the prestigious Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters 2023 tournament was disputed. Hubert Hurkacz reached the third round, in which he had to recognize the superiority of the Italian Jannik Sinner after a duel in three sets.

The 26-year-old from Wrocław did not repeat last year’s quarter-final and therefore lost 90 points. On Monday, he moved from 13th to 15th position. Ahead of “Hubi” were Briton Cameron Norrie and Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who lost the last three months through injury, but still scored more points than the Pole.

Other points were lost by Kamil Majchrzak, who is temporarily suspended due to doping suspicions. On Monday, the resident of Piotrków fell to 166th place. Kacper Żuk moved up to 263rd, scoring points at the challenger in Split. Daniel Michalski, meanwhile, received points for his triumph at the ITF World Tennis Tour in Santa Margherita di Pula and returned to the Top 300. The Warsawans is currently the 294th tennis player in the world.

The Serbian Novak Djokovic remained leader of the ATP ranking, having won only one duel in Monte-Carlo. Despite this, he increased the lead over second Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz to 470 points. Norwegian Casper Ruud returned to third place and Russian Daniil Medvedev came fourth. They took advantage of the failure of Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas to defend his title on Monaco clay, falling to fifth place.

The new Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters champion, Russian Andrei Rublev, received 1,000 points. However, this only allowed him to consolidate his sixth place in the ATP rankings. Behind him is Holger Rune, beaten by him in the final. The seventh position is the highest in the career of a talented Dane. The Top 10 also includes Italian Jannik Sinner, Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime and American Taylor Fritz.

There will be three Main Series events on European clay this week. The gentlemen will play in Barcelona (ATP 500) and in Munich and Banja Luka (ATP 250). From the Pole, only Jan Zieliński will appear, who in the Catalan capital will again create a pair of doubles with the Monegasque Hugo Nys.
