Twitter / CBS Sport / There was a big fight during the United States-Mexico game
There’s no doubt that the game between USA and Mexico in the CONCACAF Nations League was emotionally charged. Unfortunately, it is clear that these were unhealthy emotions. There was a big fight during the match after one of the rash fouls.
The behavior of Cesar Montes in the 69th minute of the match between the United States and Mexico cannot be rationally explained. The stopper, after losing the ball in the middle of his half, which was taken back to him by Folarin Balogun, simply acted stupidly. The representative of Mexico, without any thought, simply kicked the rival. In the video, it’s clear that he didn’t even intend to reach for the ball.
After Montes lost his rational thinking for a moment, a huge fight broke out on the court. Weston McKennie immediately jumped on the Mexican, who pushed him away. The rivals did not remain indebted to him and rushed to the footballer. All the commotion moved to the sideline of the pitch and the referee clearly lost control of the situation.
Ivan Barton just kept his hand with the red card and whistled for players and staff to finally calm down.

McKennie from “The Riot” came out with a torn shirt and… a red card. The judge ruled he deserved it for his unsportsmanlike behavior, which surprised some of the online community. “I don’t understand why McKennie got a red card for this and not more Mexicans,” one Twitter user wrote.
Of course, the author of the whole brawl, Cesar Montes, was also removed from the field. However, that’s not all, because at the end of the game there was another clash, after which Sergino Dest (USA) and Gerardo Arteaga (Mexico) received red cards. Both players lost their nerves and the spectators once again witnessed the fight.
McKennie discussed the situation after the meeting. The player was frustrated at receiving the red card, but it looks like he enjoyed the 3-0 win more. In the photo he posted on Instagram, he kisses the American coat of arms. “It’s our team! Proud of the boys,” wrote the American.
