The first matches of the second week of the Men’s Nations League 2023 are behind us. The winning streak was buoyed by the Japanese national team. Another defeat was suffered by Germany, whose coach is Michał Winiarski.
The Japanese national team was the only team to enter the second week of the 2023 Nations League with a full winning streak. Philippe Blain’s men maintained the status of the only unbeaten team in the competition so far and won against Canada 3-1.
From the start of the encounter, the main driving force in the Asian ranks was Yuki Ishikawa. The Japanese controlled the flow of the game from the start. Their advantage was visible especially in attack. In the third set, however, the Canadians took advantage of their opponents’ weakness and managed to extend the competition into the fourth set. In this one, however, the hosts of the last Olympics did not give their opponents a chance and scored yet another victory on their account.
The Germans, led by Michał Winiarski, fought for their second triumph in the League of Nations, whose rivals were the Iranians. Our western neighbors fought on equal terms with the Persians only for the first two sets.
In the second, they even spoiled a four-point advantage (18:14). The third part is already dominated by the accusations of Behrouz Ataea. Iran dominated the Germans mainly in the block, winning in this element until 12:3. The most effective player of the encounter was 16 ‘points’ winner Amin Esmaeilnezhad.
