Krejcikova does not slow down. She taught a lesson to a young compatriot

Barbora Krejcikova does not lose her strength on the lawn of Birmingham (WTA 250). On Friday, the Czech faced her compatriot Linda Fruhvirtova and remains without a lost set in the tournament.

In Birmingham, Barbora Krejcikova (WTA 12) is the highest ranked tennis player. She plays the role of the favorite very well. She hasn’t dropped a set in three matches. In the quarter-finals, the Czech champion of Roland Garros 2021 beat her compatriot, Linda Fruhvirtova (WTA 57), 18, 6-3, 6-2.

In 72 minutes, Krejcikova served six aces and scored 36 of 44 points on her serve. She used three of five break points and gave her break opponent no chance. It was the second clash of Czech tennis players. In 2020 in Prague, Krejcikova gave Fruhvirtova four matches.

Krejcikova’s next opponent will be Lin Zhu (WTA 39), who beat Rebecca Marino (WTA 90) 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. The match lasted two hours and six minutes. The Canadian sent 10 aces, but also committed seven double faults. The Chinese scored 42 out of 56 on her first serve. She answered five of seven break points and used five of her 12 break points.

Anastasia Potapova (WTA 21) won 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 against Harriet Dart (WTA 134) after two hours and six minutes. The Chimek tennis player scored 38 of 53 points on her first serve. She used five of her 12 break points. She will meet Jelena Ostapenko in the semi-finals.
