Several political leaders of the Frp would have formed a happy team on Saturday, April 22. On that occasion they had gathered for a joint bachelor party for one of the county’s prominent party politicians.

On Saturday evening, the politician reportedly made contact by telephone with a journalist he had known for a long time.

During the conversation, the county politician allegedly made several sexual comments, according to information from VG.

In particular, the journalist was told that she was “a dirty little whore and that she needed a dick”, according to an announcement of which VG is aware.

Two party colleagues, sitting respectively in the Storting and in an anonymous local FRP team, were reportedly present in the background during the conversation. Both play a central role within their own local team.

However, they must not have verbally interrupted the conversation in question.

Incompetent

According to VG, the journalist should have been incompetent towards the county politician. However, he must have had an ordinary professional relationship with the person in question.

– We thought that the behavior to which our journalist was exposed was unacceptable and therefore chose to report it to the Frp, writes the editor of the press house where the journalist works, to VG in an e-mail.

The editor tells VG that the FRP has dealt with the matter in greater depth.

The FRP later concluded that the county politician violated internal guidelines regarding sexual harassment and violations.

– We obviously do not want unwanted approaches and we have clear rules on the obligation to notify, writes Helge Fossum, deputy general secretary of the Frp, in an e-mail addressed to VG.

The politician is banned from participating in events organized by the party until May 1 next year.

At the same time, Fossum emphasizes that any doubts regarding participation in events in which the county politician plays a central role will be clarified separately with the head of the organizing committee.

According to Fossum, no alcohol should be involved in such shows.

Friendship

He confirms that the phone call took place during the bachelor party.

However, the politician claims that he and the journalist have had a mutual friendship for 12-13 years.

The victim responds to the statements as follows:

“To present it as a close friendship, I see it as an attempt to defuse and justify what he has done. I haven’t met this man for years.”

According to the politician’s own statements, it was an attempt at “bullshit”. He further claims that it’s something they “always did both ways.”

At the same time, the department politician says that he will adapt to the decision of the organizing committee, but above all “learn from the incident”.
