But to the delight of vacationers and city dwellers, spring has finally arrived and Easter week will bring good weather almost everywhere in the country.

“Looks like there’s plenty of usable weather, so to speak, and some sunshine,” duty meteorologist Unni Nilssen told Dagbladet.

Meteorologists are also reporting that several parts of the country have more than a meter of snow, which should provide good opportunities for a few last ski trips this season.

Sun and good weather in the south

Nilssen says southern Norway will be the big winner in Easter time.

– In southern Norway there will be lots of sunshine and good weather. There probably won’t be much cloud except for a day or two every now and then.

She says that, like the rest of the country, Maundy Thursday is perhaps the only exception.

– Then there may be some precipitation and therefore a little more cloudiness.

– Softer in the north

According to the meteorologist, mild weather will arrive in northern Norway this week, but the weather will be slightly more changeable than in the south.

– In the north, there is precipitation at the moment, and rain and sleet will probably come from the sea. But it will be a little milder in the future and less cold than before.

She says western coastal areas will see some wind in the coming days, but can still enjoy good weather.

– There will also be a slight increase in the wind on the Westland coast and further north tomorrow, but it will probably be nothing more than a light gale in any case.

Snow showers on Maundy Thursday

Easterners will also be able to enjoy the sun in the coming days and will mostly have the same good weather as southerners, but Nilssen says Maundy Thursday may bring some snow showers.

– Thursday can be a little exciting, then a small cold air front will arrive, which can bring a few flurries. Thus, the temperature in eastern Norway will drop a little temporarily, but will rise again on Good Friday.
