Paweł Ciaś will compete in the second round of Challenger Invest qualifying at the Szczecin Open. The remaining Poles suffered defeats in Sunday’s matches.

Paweł Ciaś’s opponent in the first round of qualifying was Frenchman Clément Tabur. The Pole gave a little joy to the public who showed up on the courts of Szczecin on Sunday. Paweł Ciaś won in straight sets and will face German Rudolf Molleker, seeded second in qualifying, on Monday to advance to the main tournament.

The remaining Poles lost their chance to qualify for the main draw on Sunday. Szymon Kielan fought back in the second set against Steven Diez, but he was unable to break the Canadian. Jasza Szajrych could not cope with Henri Squir. The matches between Adrian Andrzejczuk and Kacper Królikowski were completely one-sided and dictated by the rivals.

The unlucky one of the day was Federico Delbonis. The Argentinian feels good on clay and in the match against Lucas Gerch, he seemed on the way up. Delbonis’ game collapsed in the second set due to health issues. The Argentinian was withdrawn and the German will be seen for the second time in Szczecin.
