Wiktoria Azarenka is not going to conquer the grass of Den Bosch (WTA 250). The former leader of the ranking was eliminated from the tournament after losing to American Ashlyn Krueger.
Four quarter-finalists were selected in Den Bosch on Wednesday. In this group, there is no Victoria Azarenka (WTA 19), seeded number 3. The two-time Australian Open champion lost 3-6, 2-6 to Ashlyn Krueger (WTA 152).
In the first set, the former leader of the classification lost 0:5. She won three games in a row, but there was no spectacular comeback. In the second set, she did not recover and gave the application twice. The emotions were provided by the seventh game. Azarenka scored a break point and saved four match points. The fifth match ball was used by Krueger.
In 73 minutes, the American saved four of five break points and used three of seven break chances. She faced Azarenka for the second time. In the first round of the 2022 US Open, Krueger broke the former leader’s set.

Veronika Kudermetowa (WTA 14) won 6-1, 6-3 over Carol Zhao (WTA 163). In 70 minutes, the top-seeded Moscow player served six aces and collected 25 of 30 points on her first serve. She used five of her nine break points.
Polina Kudermetova (WTA 141) was no surprise. Weronika’s younger sister in the first set with 0:2 took the lead 3:2, but eventually lost 4:6, 1:6 to Lyudmila Samsonowa (WTA 15). Aleksandra Sasnowicz (WTA 71) won 6:2, 4:6, 6:3 Greet Minnen (WTA 120). The tennis player from Minsk was able to finish the match in straight sets, as she was leading 6:2, 2:0. In the third set, she crushed the opposing resistance. She got a break at 3:1 and didn’t give up the advantage.
