The Folloban between Oslo and Ski is closed indefinitely. Bane Nor announces a new update Friday at 12 p.m.
The Folloban line was also closed on Monday when 70 passengers were trapped on the train in the tunnel. It happened after a catenary was demolished.
Bane Nor has now concluded that the cable was torn due to water pouring from the roof of the tunnel.
– It has now been decided to carry out an inspection of the entire Blixtunnel installation. We will inspect the entire facility to ensure there is no danger of further demolition, press officer Olav Nordli told Bane Nor.
The tunnel was closed on Thursday with immediate effect when the cause became clear.
– Was it urgent to have the problem investigated?
– This is simply because we prioritize safety and want to ensure that there is no increased risk of other trains being blocked, explains Nordli.
– Could this end up being a long-term closure?
– It’s completely impossible to say. It all depends on whether we win something when we control the cap, so it will only be speculation. First, we will check.
According to Nordli, there isn’t much water dripping from the roof, but if it hits the right places it can weaken points in the tunnel, causing hangers or cables in the roof to weaken.
The Folloban was inaugurated with pomp and pomp last December 11, but was already closed on December 19. Then the course was strictly until March 5 of this year.
