Canada’s National Team has qualified for the Elite World Championship Finals. In the semifinals, hockey players beat the host team – Latvia 4:2. For the winners, it’s the fourth consecutive final, and for the losers, it’s a fight for a historic puck.

Going into the game, Team Canada was the definite favourite. They have reached this stage for the fourth consecutive time. In previous world championships, hockey players won the vice-world championship. Gold went to the Finnish team. They faced the defending champions in the quarter-finals. Hockey players from the country of the ”maple leaf” won 4:1 and on the opponent’s rink. They took revenge for the previous year. On the other hand, the Latvian hockey players, having come out of the third place in the group, sensationally beat the Swedes. 3:1. It was a historic win as Latvia had never been in the top four.

The two teams met at the start of the World Cup. Then the Canadians won convincingly 6:0.
