Police attended Furuset at 10:42 p.m. Wednesday night following a report of a fight between several people. Many people called the incident.
– Edged weapons and possible firearms were observed. No injuries have been reported so far, police wrote on Twitter.
When TV 2 speaks to operations director Per Ivar Iversen at around 02:00 on Wednesday evening, he says they have yet to find any of those involved, after an extensive search of the area.
– They were partially masked people, Iversen told TV 2. He therefore cannot determine with certainty who was involved in the fight. Police also found no traces of gunshots fired at the scene, but several witnesses report hearing gunshots.
– It is not unlikely that these are gang relations and that old conflicts are the background. That’s one of the hypotheses we’re working on, Iversen says. He emphasizes that this was not a random incident nor did it affect random people.
Several ambulances moved after reports of fighting, but they were also unable to get hold of any wounded.
– Nor did anyone with injuries consistent with the incident show up to the emergency room, so it’s currently unclear if anyone was injured, Iversen said.
Earlier in the day, operations manager Alexander Østerhaug said police had secured videos and leads in the area, and Iversen can confirm they had obtained multiple tapes of the incident.
Police have now completed their work at the scene and the matter is being further investigated.
