Drama on board plane at Bodø airport
When a Wizz Air plane had to stop in Bodø to refuel, five passengers got off the plane without permission. The police are investigating the incident.
The plane was en route from Poland to Harstad/Narvik Evenes Airport, but had to land in Bodø on Thursday evening to refuel. Operations Manager Kjetil Kaalaas told NTB that passengers who left the plane apparently had Bodø and surrounding areas as their final destination.
– We were not told why the plane ended up with an extra stopover in Bodø, but they were supposed to only have fuel and then continue flying. Thus, there was no reception device at the airport. When they get off the plane, you end up with passengers who are in places where they shouldn’t be, and the airport is closed, Kaalaas explains.
The spontaneous “shortcut” can sting for all five passengers.
– The police are reporting this case, and I expect it will end with a summons. In terms of aviation, it tends to quickly become expensive, explains the director of operations.
For other passengers, there will be a noticeably later arrival than expected. The plane was actually supposed to land in Evenes at 8:50 p.m., but at 11:00 p.m. it was still on the ground in Bodø.
Half an hour later, police wrote on Twitter that the captain had asked for help to evacuate two other passengers who had behaved badly. They are reported for disorderly conduct.
