Cristian Garin, Aleksandar Kovacevic and Christopher Eubanks, who started the ATP Masters 1000 tournament on hard in Miami with eliminations, are already in the second round. The talented Jiri Lehecka showed up on the right side.
Due to Cristian Garin’s low ranking, he had to start with qualifying for the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami. The Chilean passed the preliminary stage and on Thursday he won the first game of the main group – after a two-hour game he beat Marcos Girona 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
Garin had three aces, two breaks and 24 knockouts on Thursday. In the second round, the Chilean will face Sebastian Baez, seeded number 27.
Another qualifier, Christopher Eubanks, took on compatriot Denis Kudla in straight sets. The American’s next rival will be No. 17 Borna Coric. Aleksandar Kovacević, the “lucky loser” of the qualifiers, also took advantage of his chance by beating Jaume Munar and in the next phase he will face Francisco Cerundolo, the “25” of the tournament.

Of the qualifying players in Thursday’s session, only Jordan Thompson failed. The Australian, after an equal duel, lost 2-6, 6-4, 3-6 against Alex Molcan. In the second round, the Slovak will face No. 28 seed Yoshihito Nishioka.
The talented Jiri Lehecka showed up on the right side. The 21-year-old Czech never had to defend against a break, he himself used two of the five break points and confidently beat (6:3, 6:4) Federico Coria. In the 1/32 round, the tennis player from Mlada Boleslav will play with the No. 18 seed Lorenzo Musetti.
The French had reason to be happy. Adrian Mannarino won 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 against wildcard holder Juncheng Shang and will face No. 32 Ben Shelton in the second round. On the other hand, Quentin Halys proved to be better than Pedro Martinez and will face Alex de Minaur, the “15” of the tournament, for a climb to the 1/16 finals.
Roberto Carballes also entered the second round. The Spaniard took down his colleague, Bernabe Zapata, who scratched after losing nine games. His next opponent will be fourth seed Daniil Medvedev.
