– Hello, it’s Kari Tisjø, the arsonist, says Kari Tisjø (50) on the phone.
Dagbladet contacts Tisjø on Saturday afternoon. A few hours earlier, the emergency services were to intervene after a fire in two buildings of the Merkebekk in Dragendal.
The fire was lit, but the police did not have to deploy major resources to find the author.
She was standing in front of the burning buildings when the police arrived, and in her hand she had the lighter that was used to commit the “crime”.
Anne-Marie’s house (78) destroyed by the flames: – Terrible
– Like to manage on my own
Because it was Tisjø himself who was responsible for the fire on his own property. Both buildings were due to be demolished in the near future, and Tisjø thought she could “take matters into her own hands” when it came to the small outbuilding.
So she turned on the addiction and planned to grill some sausages. She could demolish the big building later.
– I like to fend for myself and we live in the countryside. So I feel like it’s okay to live a little free, to be a little mischievous, says Tisjø.
She first called the fire department when she set the outhouse on fire, to “confess her sins” and let them know not to worry if they received any fire reports.
He was told to call them if the fire seemed to be spreading to the larger house, Kari said – which he did quickly.
lost control
Tisjø realized that she no longer had control of the fire and had to call the fire department. So there were no sausages.
– It went very fast, I said “Damn, it’s raining a lot” to my sister, says Tisjø.
Rescuers arrived in force and began to bring the fire under control, but both buildings eventually burned down.
– It’s kinda funny. People were happy and the weather was nice, I have to take it with a smile, says Tisjø, with laughter lurking.
– It was a small mistake, you might say, and I am richer in experience.

Questioned by the police
Tisjø says she had a demolition permit for the buildings. Everything was drained and the electricity was cut off, and there was never any danger to life or health.
On the other hand, the fire caused a number of traffic problems, as the secondary road in front of the house had to be closed for a few hours. This was not included in the calculation, says Tisjø.
She was questioned by the police, where she took the lighter as evidence, she said.
– I lay down completely and told everything I had done. Geft is free, but I expect to get a reaction. I just have to take my punishment, and I’m very excited about what it will be, says Tisjø.
She hopes that the sanction will not take too much from the demolition budget.

– not very wise
South East Police District Director of Operations Jan Kristian Johnsrud confirms that a file has been opened on the matter.
– It was not very wise, people do a lot of strange things. Fortunately, she was very honest about it, and it’s good that she tells what happened, Johnsrud tells Dagbladet.
Since Tisjø did not hide the “misdeed”, no technical investigation has yet been carried out.
– Is it a crime to burn your own property?
– I can’t decide if it’s punishable, the lawyers have to look at that. It went beyond other things, but it was an accident. There will likely be a negligence assessment, Johnsrud says.
Tisjø says she learned from the incident and won’t do it again.
– My motto is that it usually goes well, but today it’s not, says Tisjø.
