It appears the X-ray is a few years old, but this is the first time the incident has been discussed publicly.

Rosales also points to a similar discovery from 2019. During a routine body scanner check at El Pozo de Llama prison, prison guards discovered that one of the prisoners was carrying a grenade in his rectum.

Honduran President Xiomara Castro has put military police in charge of the country’s poorly managed prisons and given them a year to train new guards, AP reports.

This is not the first time that a grenade discovery has made the headlines.
