For the second time, Caroline Graham Hansen and the rest of Barcelona were able to play in front of a packed Camp Nou. In March, there were 91,553 spectators in place when Real Madrid were beaten 5-2.
This Friday night there were even more in the stands – a total of 91,648 – and this time too they were served up much like a goal show.
Aitana Bonmati had already sent Barcelona ahead after three minutes, before Graham Hansen doubled for the home side. The 27-year-old entered the box, got past the Wolfsburg defense and sent the ball well into the far corner.
The score has already triumphed on Twitter, where the Norwegian national team player is praised for his performance. Also the team as a whole is getting a lot of praise.
– All Barcelona players were eight or nine out of ten, said commentator and former soccer player Lucy Ward.
– Fans come to watch because the team is great and they like to play on this stage.
- The second leg between Wolfsburg and Barcelona will be played on April 30.
Will Barcelona reach the Champions League final?
Run into the goal
The goal celebration only continued for Barcelona throughout the round, while Wolfsburg’s light green players didn’t have much to offer for a long time.
Jennifer “Jenni” Hermoso Fuentes scored Barcelona’s third goal after half an hour, then Alexia Putellas came on alone with the goalkeeper, and then Barcelona led 4-0 before the break.
Wolfsburg can only establish the reduction after 73 minutes. Jill Roord’s goal is first ruled out for offside, but after a VAR check the guests’ first goal is approved.
But the recovery did not start for this reason, because Putellas had not finished scoring.
With just over five minutes of regular playing time, Putellas was brought down in the box and a penalty was awarded to Barcelona. He himself set last year’s Ballon d’Or winner, setting the result at 5-1.
Ingrid Syrstad Engen came on in the 89th minute. Graham Hansen was replaced after 88.
Can take four titles
This year’s season, Barcelona have the chance to win four titles. If they make it to the Champions League final, they will have the opportunity to win this year’s third.
Before, they won the series and the Super Cup. The championship game is not over, but the team leads with 22 points ahead of the next in the table. They also have the chance to win a fourth title, as they are in the Copa de la Reina semi-finals.
“We want to win all four titles and try to win every game we play,” coach Jonatan Giraldez said before the game against Wolfsburg.
