Grouping of attempts to sabotage the event

According to the police, two groups fought.

– There’s a group that rented the room, and then there’s another group that disagrees with some of the political messages they’re advocating, that came here to make a mark. They did it in a somewhat stupid way, walking into the room and it ended in a fight, project manager Svend Bjelland tells Dagbladet.

– What groupings are we talking about?

– There is a political disagreement on the situation in Eritrea, replies Bjelland.

No one was seriously injured in the crash, but two people were rescued by an ambulance.

On Twitter, the police wrote that there were around 15-20 people who tried to sabotage the event.

– It was undoubtedly experienced as dramatic for those who were inside, but as I said, no one was seriously injured, so in that sense it is good.

No one was arrested either.

– Those who entered were expelled from the premises. If they choose to return, they will likely be brought in and fined for violating the police order, says the project manager.

Bjelland makes a clear appeal ahead of tonight’s celebration at Ekeberghallen.

– They get a real vacation. And if you don’t agree, you have guidelines in Norway that you must follow. We will make the necessary arrangements for everyone to have their say, but then it will have to be done calmly and in accordance with the rules.

The police will be present at Ekeberghallen throughout the evening and will assess the situation continuously, explains Bjelland.
