The representative of the Middle Kingdom also won Thursday during the second Sino-Japanese clash. Third-ranked Xinyu Wang confidently won against Himeno Sakatsume 6:4, 6:2. Thanks to this, he will meet Kazakh Yulia Putintseva on Friday.

Elizabeth Mandlik will compete in the quarterfinals of the main series competition for the second time this season. The American is the daughter of legendary Czechoslovakian tennis player Hana Mandlikova. On Thursday, she beat Canadian Rebecca Marino 7:5, 3:6, 6:1 and repeated the Nottingham result. Lin Zhu will now block his path.

Arianne Hartono was the one who spent the least time on the pitch on Thursday. The Dutch beat Hungarian Panna Udvardy 6:2, 6:0 in just an hour. In Friday’s quarterfinals, she will face the only remaining singles player among the hosts, Mai Hontama.
