He will be Statoil’s new CFO

Hans Jacob Hegge has been appointed as Statoil’s new executive vice president for economics and finance as the company reorganises its senior management.

Hegge succeeds Torgrim Reitan, who was appointed executive vice president for the USA Development and Production business sector.

Bill Maloney, who has been heading Statoil’s US operations, will not be extending his contract with the company.

Hegge is Director of Operations North, within the development and production department in Norway, and Reitan and Hegge will take up their positions on 1 August 2015.

In the United States, Reitan will be tasked with further focusing his efforts on improving the profitability of Statoil’s assets in the Gulf of Mexico and its onshore shale oil and gas operations in the United States, the company wrote in a statement.

Statoil’s operations in Canada will be part of the International Development and Production business segment.

Statoil writes in the statement that three new executive directors have been appointed as members of the group’s management.

Irene Rummelhoff has been appointed Executive Vice President of the new New Energy Solutions business sector.

Rummelhoff is Statoil’s Director of Exploration on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The new business area New Energy Solutions will focus on transforming global energy systems towards a low-carbon society. According to Statoil, the aim is to promote profitable growth in the field of renewable energy and new energy solutions.

Jens Økland will be the new Executive Director of another new business area: Marketing, Midstream & Processing (MMP). The renewable business of the former Marketing, Processing & Renewable Energy (MPR) business area has been transferred to New Energy Solutions.

Tor Martin Anfinnsen, who has been interim Executive Vice President of MPR since October 2014, is taking on the role of Head of Marketing and Commercial at MMP.

Rummelhoff and Økland will take up their new positions on 1 June 2015.
