Carlo Ancelotti believes the aging world-class trio of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema will play for Real Madrid next season.
Benzema has continued to wreak havoc for Real Madrid this season and has scored 25 goals in 31 games. At the end of the season, his contract expires, as do Modric and Kroos’ deals.
But if Ancelotti is to be believed, all three will also play in white next season. On Friday, he confirmed there were positive discussions underway over possible contract extensions.
– I think they’ll find a solution eventually. There is progress, said the Italian.
He nevertheless warned that Real Madrid will have to manage without them one day.
– I think everyone wants to stay here, but we have to think about the day when they won’t want to be here anymore. They are unique, but something has to change. We have to look at the future of the club, he continued, adding:
– We have fantastic young players.
Benzema joined the Santiago Bernabéu in 2009, while Modric was brought in from Tottenham in 2012. Kroos signed for the Whites in 2014.
Since then, they have won the Champions League four times.
