Hubert Hurkacz competed in Toronto one more day due to his doubles match. However, her joint fling with Croatian Mate Pavić came to an end. This duo did not meet the German pair Kevin Krawietz-Tim Puetz.

The doubles competition allowed Hubert Hurkacz, despite the loss in Toronto, to stay longer. In the third round of the singles tournament, Carlos Alcaraz proved to be slightly better. There was virtually no there was a feeling.

Our tennis player also won two doubles matches. This led him, along with Mate Pavic, to qualify for the quarter-finals. After beating the top two in the world, their leaders were German duo Kevin Krawietz and Canada’s No. 6 seed Tim Puetz.

At the start of the competition, both duos lost their passes. In the next part of the set, we saw an even duel, but it was time. As the Germans led 6:5 and were sure to play the tie-break, they managed to find set pieces at the rivals’ sites.

Already in the first setball, Krawietz and Puetz won the final triumph in the first. Thanks to this, the highest ranked duo took the lead in this meeting and was one step away from the semi-finals.

The German pair started the next game with a heavy blow. After a quick break, they managed to defend the break point, thanks to which they led 3:0. Hurkacz and Pavic’s situation was becoming more and more difficult.

Both duos kept their passes, which was very comfortable for the Germans. However, when they served for the final triumph, the rivals began to perform better. In the ninth game of this set, they managed to create two break points.

The second took place at 40:40. So for the Polish-German pair it meant a break point, and for the rivals a set ball. Finally, another and also the last point of this match was scored by a German duo.

So, after beating the best doubles players, Hurkacz and Pavić failed. The sixth-seeded German duo will now face the Brits, namely Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury.
