The Hockey World Cup is underway. 16 Elite teams compete in the Czech Republic. The teams are divided into two groups. The top four teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals. Teams ranked 5 to 7 will be eliminated from the competition, but will retain their place in the Elite. However, teams in eighth place will be relegated to Division I.
