The water leak in Levanger: The hospital recovered the water
The hospital has its water back after a major water leak in Levanger on Saturday morning. The location where the leak occurred is still unknown.
Communications adviser Berit Røflo confirmed to NTB that the hospital was without water.
– What we know is that there is a water leak in the commune of Levanger. We are working to find a backup solution, but the positive is that no major activity is planned here today, Røflo said.
At 9 a.m. Mayor Anita Sand (Spain) can say that the hospital has restored water.
– We don’t have figures on the number of people affected by the water leak, but the most important thing is that the hospital recovered the water, she told NTB.
It was Trønder-Avisa who first reported the water leak, which will affect residents of the Bamberg and Gjemble regions.
The municipality of Levanger wrote in a text message to residents of the area, which was sent at 06:17 on Saturday morning:
“A search is underway for a major water leak in the network. All of Bamberg and Gjemble are currently without water. Crews are now searching. Uncertain when water will return. Water tanks will run out if the rectification takes a long time.
The municipality’s technical guard, Per Kåre Brenne, told Trønder-Avisa just before 08:30 that the fault is in the center of Levanger, but that they have not yet found the exact position of the leak.
– We are in the process of closing certain areas in order to be able to locate the leak, explains Brenne.
Six people are looking for the leak, but Brenne asks the public to get in touch if they see water pooling in any places. (HAVE)
