The latest WTA rankings were released on Monday. Iga Świątek retained her place on the throne. What is the situation of the Whites and Reds after the match of the Polish team?

Last week, not a single main series event took place, and tennis players were able to take part in the Billie Jean King Cup matches. Since no points are awarded for playing under national colors, there is no need to look for changes at the top of the world rankings on Monday.

Iga Świątek started the 55th consecutive week as leader of the WTA rankings. The 21-year-old from Raszyn maintained a 2,084-point lead over second-placed Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka. American Jessica Pegula remained on the bottom step of the podium, which secured a place for Team USA in the final tournament of the Billie Jean King Cup this weekend.

The second of the White-Reds, Magda Linette, took part in the match lost 1:3 against the Kazakhs. The 31-year-old from Poznań remained the 19th rocket in the world on Monday. The 100th position was retained by Magdalena Fręch, who is recovering from a wrist injury and therefore did not participate in the match in Astana.

A slight drop, to 227th place, was recorded by Katarzyna Kawa. Maja Chwalińska gained a “point” in 238th place. Weronika Falkowska came close to a personal best, with points added for her performance at the ITF World Tennis Tour tournament in the Italian resort town of Santa Margherita di Pula. Warszawianka is currently the 241st tennis player in the world.

This week’s WTA 500 clay tournament will take place in Stuttgart. The highest seed was Iga Świątek, who defends the title and 470 ranking points. This will be her first appearance on the women’s tour after a month-long hiatus with a rib injury. In doubles, the best Polish voice actress, Alicja Rosolska, will appear on German clay.
