Hareid’s well shipping company Intership delivered its second new building from the Zamakona shipyards in Bilbao, Spain, in September 2023 as the yard’s billion. 803. Inter Scotland is a battery-powered hybrid wellboat, designed by Salt Ship Design in Stord and has a loading capacity of 2,500 cubic meters.
Inter Scotland is similar to her sister ship Interatlantic designed with a focus on fish handling, welfare and biosecurity. The ship has installed a large battery which, combined with heat recovery and other measures, can significantly reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The ship installed a large fresh water production facility. The production of fresh water from sea water is done by reverse osmosis, with a production capacity of 5,000 cubic meters of fresh water in 24 hours.
EFFECTIVE TREATMENT OF FRESH WATER
Since 2016, Intership has led the development of freshwater reverse osmosis lice and AGD (amoebiasis) treatment. Over the past seven years, the company has gained extensive operational experience in fresh water production and treatment. Experience is used to actively develop and improve existing and planned systems. The result is a reverse osmosis system designed specifically for wellboats, which is a highly effective, affordable and environmentally friendly method for treating lice, AGD and other gills in fish. breeding.
Inter Scotland after delivery he directly entered into a permanent agreement for a major breeding business in Scotland. After a few months of work, the new building will be equipped with the FLS Caligus R600 anti-lice system. The combination of fresh water treatment and low pressure treatment is an effective and gentle method of eliminating salmon lice and gill problems in the same operation.
TWO BOATS UNDER CONSTRUCTION
– It is with great pleasure that we take delivery of our third vessel equipped with Intership’s state-of-the-art freshwater salmon production and processing facility. Fresh water treatment is probably one of the gentlest treatment methods, and it is possible to achieve both financial, time and environmental savings by organizing such treatment through the installation of facilities large capacity fresh water production. We also have two more wellboats under construction with even greater production capacities, explains Ole Peter Brandal, Managing Director of Intership.
Intership was established in 2014 and has seen solid growth since its inception. The company offers a modern fleet with innovative technology for sustainable fish handling, processing and transportation. After the takeover of the new buildings in Zamakona and Sefine, the total capacity of the Intership fleet will be approximately 26,200 cubic meters distributed over eleven wellboats, and with this new construction program, Intership will become one of the main wellboat shipping companies.
