MONTREAL — International leaders will gather in Montreal on Saturday for the Global Action for Progress Summit, which brings together progressive leaders from around the world.
The summit is organized by the think tank Canada 2020, in collaboration with the Center for American Progress Action Fund, an independent American policy institute.
Several Canadian elected officials, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly and Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland, will attend this meeting.
Former Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre, former Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin and British Labor Party leader Keir Starmer are also among the politicians who will attend the summit. More than 15 countries will be represented.
“The Summit brings together progressive global leaders from governments, think tanks and civil society organizations for unique high-level discussions on priorities including economic growth for all, investment in quality jobs while fighting climate change, as well as renewing confidence in how democracy produces results for people in a context of rapid geopolitical changes on a global scale”, can be read in English on the Canada website 2020.
Summit discussions will be streamed live on the Canada 2020 website from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
