It is particularly in the south and east of the country, already bathed in sunshine and high temperatures, that the summer weather has really taken hold.
– In the hottest places we are already above 25 degrees, and it will continue like that, says state meteorologist Martin Granerød in Dagbladet.
The municipality of Sigdal in Viken was the hottest of the day. A total of 27.3 degrees was recorded there. Similar temperatures have been reported in multiple locations over the coming week. In the capital, the temperature can reach 30s.
– We have in front of us a beautiful summer weather, declares the meteorologist.
On the super list: – No wonder
Great risk of forest fire
There is high pressure over the British Isles, stretching across the North Sea, which is affecting the weather in the south and east of the country.
The high pressure also ensures the absence of precipitation.
The rain should not announce its arrival anytime soon either, specifies the meteorologist, who underlines that it is not only a question of a joyful message:
There is a great risk of forest fires in large parts of southern Norway.
– The danger warnings that have been sent will remain in place until significant rainfall occurs, says Granerød.
– When should it arrive?
– It looks like there will be a stay in the coming week. After the weekend, it is somewhat dangerous for afternoon showers in inland areas, but in this case they will be short-lived and local – not enough to overcome the risk of wildfires.
“Dirty weather” in the north
The contrast between southern Norway and northern Norway is always great.
Meteorologist Charalampos Sarchosidis reported “endless stormy weather” in the north on Thursday, after waking up in Tromsø to freezing temperatures and the coldest June day in 26 years.
His colleague can now report that the high affecting southern Norway will move slightly north next weekend.
– Then the temperature in Nordland can also approach the 20s, but it will be a bit on the edge of the anticyclone, so I can’t promise sunshine in a cloudless sky, says Granerød.
Towards the weekend, temperatures will also rise in western Norway, which has not yet been able to boast of such high temperatures as in the south and east.
In Troms and Finnmark, people have to be prepared for the sun to continue to hide behind the clouds.
– But they will have temperatures between ten and 15 degrees during the weekend, so it will be something closer to summer, says the meteorologist.
