Polish volleyball fans cannot complain about emotions lately, as these are regularly provided by representatives of our country. Nikola Grbic’s players have become tie-break experts. The hard journeys are behind us

The Polish volleyball team is currently participating in the Nations League tournament held in the Netherlands. Biało-Czerwoni have played two matches so far and coach Nikola Grbić can be quite happy as his volleyball players have won each time. The only problem is that in both cases a tie-break was necessary.

The Poles first faced the Germans, then the Dutch. In these meetings, we saw our team play at checkered. There have been some very good sets, but there are also some that shouldn’t happen to a team of this class.

For now, I’m happy that our volleyball players are very strong mentally and won every tie-break in this year’s edition of the Nations League. It should also be borne in mind that our team is guaranteed to participate in the final tournament as hosts. Therefore, previous matches can be treated as sparring and an opportunity to test different players and solutions.

Americans in great shape

Now the Poles face a very interesting and perhaps the toughest game in the Nations League. On Saturday June 24, we will play the United States. USA volleyball players have been among the best in the world for years and this is confirmed in current competitions.

The Americans are second in the Nations League standings with eighteen points. Poland are fifth and down seven points, but have played one less game. Interestingly, Saturday’s rivals only lost one game, but Team USA took all of their wins without a tie-break.

How is our rival in the Netherlands? Very good, because the American volleyball players beat Serbia, China and Iran. It was only in the clash with the Serbs that they lost a set, and otherwise won 3:0. It is therefore clear that the White-Reds face a very big challenge.

Emotions will not fail

Volleyball fans probably know perfectly well that matches against the United States are always full of emotions. Last year, we faced this opponent four times. The balance is in favor of our team, as the Poles won three matches and were beaten only once.

For the Polish national team, this will be the penultimate meeting in the Netherlands. The next day we will play against Italy. In July we will have another tournament, then we will face Slovenia, Brazil, Canada and Japan.
