Next year’s National Cross Country Recruiting Team will consist of ten riders, as far as NTB is aware. That’s two less than last season.

The Norwegian Ski Association justifies the reduction in the number of runners by the economic situation.

It has not yet been definitively decided which athletes will be offered a place in the team, but it has been communicated that the selection will be announced on Wednesday or Thursday of next week, i.e. the 3rd or 4th may.

The Norwegian Ski Association has also been looking for a replacement for coach Monika Kørra, who is going on leave. This is a position that will count for 50% and the person employed as a temporary worker must be based in Oslo.

– It is of course sad that we are in such a situation that we have to reduce the number of athletes, but now this is how it has become and there are many reasons for this. We have to deal with the situation and then I hope and believe that we can still put together a good sports plan, but it is of course a shame that we have to reduce the number of runners, confides Kørra to TV 2.

Marthe Kristoffersen has just resigned as coach of the Elon Innlandet team and could currently replace Kørra. According to what NTB has reason to believe, Kristoffersen also has a job offer with long-distance team Team Eksjöhus.

Kristoffersen confirmed to TV 2 that she did not apply for the rookie national team coaching job.

Trønderen coached Team Innlandet for four seasons.

The reduction in the number of runners in the rookie national team is in line with what happened in the elite teams. There, the number of runners was reduced from 24 to 20 with ten runners of each gender.
