O2 unveils self-service bars using Amazon’s AI technology

These bars are made possible by Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology, which relies on the venue’s implementation of self-ordering kiosks and self-dispensing beverage stations throughout the arena.

The technology aims to speed up the service, so visitors can have more time to enjoy the entertainment.

The new food and beverage experience will launch this summer and allow customers to log in with contactless payment, choose their items and avoid traditional payment.

More self-service bars are on the horizon, with another venue expected to open at the O2 later this year.

Adam Pearson, Chief Commercial Officer at The O2, said: “Our strategic investments in technology are driven by our commitment to creating seamless experiences that our customers truly love.

“The integration of Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology is a direct result of our ongoing efforts, together with our partner Levy UK + Ireland, to listen to our customers and implement solutions that meet their expectations for convenience and efficiency at every touchpoint.

“As the world’s leading venue, we do not stand still and the fan experience will always be a priority for us.”

Artificial intelligence calculates exactly who gets what in the store or cafe, ensuring speed and efficiency.

Just Walk Out technology has already been used in over 150 third-party locations across the US, UK, Australia and Canada.

Jon Jenkins, VP of Just Walk Out Technology at Amazon, said: “Bringing Just Walk Out technology to a world-class venue like the O2 is an exciting next step in our continued growth in the UK.

“We look forward to expanding our presence in the coming years, bringing our technology to more locations across the country with Levy UK and Ireland.” »
