LATEST: Emergency services arrived on site. The two injured people were taken to hospital. The relationship is under investigation, police say.
Emergency services are mobilizing with all resources after learning that a silo had exploded in Romerike. However, it turned out that it was not an explosion, but a silo that had ruptured.
– Injuries known, but degree of damage unknown, police wrote in the first Twitter message at 10:37 a.m.
The supervisor of the East 110 center, Arne Normi, informs Dagbladet that there are two people slightly injured.
– There is a silo with an overfilled and cracked screed. We are starting to get an overview of the situation, and there are no dangerous substances in the area, Normi says.
A wall must have collapsed.
Eastern Police Operations Manager Melissa Krag says the cause is likely an overcrowded silo and cement powder covers much of the area.
– As of now, everyone in the building has been accounted for. It is not a dangerous substance. Two people are currently receiving health care, but I don’t have any harm to people, she said.
One of the people is covered in cement powder. The second person would be very close to a wall destroyed by the wind and would complain of back pain. The person was awake during the last ops center update.
