As part of the transition to phasing out BankID on mobile, Telia is introducing fees for the service.
From December 16, it costs NOK 0.99 to use BankID on mobile if you have a Telia subscription, according to NRK.
This is happening as part of the transition to the new BankID app.
– We introduced payment because we want customers to use BankID on the app, Telia CIO Daniel Barhom tells NRK.
The phasing out of BankID on mobile began in September, the new solution is independent of the mobile’s SIM card.
BankID is a personal electronic identity card for secure online identification and signature, i.e. a kind of digital passport to confirm who you are. In addition to identification, the BankID application must also be able to be used for electronic signature.
