Tennis players move from clay courts to grass courts. Three Polish women will play in Nottingham (WTA 250): Magda Linette and Magdalena Fręch in singles and Alicja Rosolska in doubles.

The Roland Garros grand slam tournament ended on Sunday in Paris. In professional tennis, the time has come to change the surface. For the next few weeks, the competition will take place on grass. In Nottingham, emotions will not be lacking with the participation of Polish tennis players.

Magda Linette (n°3) and Magdalena Fręch will face players who passed the qualifications. The Poznanian will meet the Australian Olivia Gadecki. The opponent of the Łódź woman will be the British Sonay Kartal. The Polish women have gone to the same part of the ladder and can face each other in the quarter-finals.

The highest seed was Maria Sakkari. In the first round, the Greek will play with the Chinese Xiyu Wang. Defending champion Beatriz Haddad Maia (#2), who put in a sensational performance at Roland Garros, will play in the tournament. In Paris, she reached the semi-finals and was the first Brazilian singles player to reach the Top 10 ranking. In Nottingham, she will face Lesia Tsurenko of Ukraine at the start.

Donna Vekić (#4) won the title in Nottingham in 2017 and reached the final in 2019. The Croatian will face Spain’s Cristina Bucsa. Ukraine’s Anhelina Kalinina (#5) has been assigned another tennis player from the Iberian Peninsula, Nuria Parrizas Diaz.

2021 runner-up Shuai Zhang (#6) will meet Germany’s Tatjana Maria, semi-finalist at Wimbledon 2022. Another Chinese Lin Zhu (#8) will play against American Alycia Parks. The Italian Camila Giorgi (n°7) will meet the American Madison Brengle.

Alicja Rosolska will play doubles and her partner will be Nadia Kiczenok. A Polish woman and a Ukrainian woman were seeded with the fourth number. In the first round, they will face the Taiwanese Fang-Hsien Wu and the Chinese Lin Zhu.
