The Suzuki Korona Handball training staff is unchanged. The Kielce club will start the new season with Paweł Tetelewski, Szymon Żaba-Żabiński and Tomasz Błaszkiewicz on board. The coach admitted to rejecting interesting cooperation offers.
– There were still two good offers: from the Superliga and I think from the best team in the Central League next season, but I refused. I feel good in Kielce, I have a family here and I want to be close to them. Of course, the offers are always tempting, they make you think, but I didn’t want to change anything – admits Tetelewski.
“We have a moment where we are trying to rebuild. Lots of girls left with top notch experience, we focus on our youth. I always get excited when I’m on the bench, I still wonder how to put the blocks together. Hopefully now we will have fewer injuries and more competition. We want to take a step forward for girls to play at a better level – he adds.
Szymon Żaba-Żabiński will once again be the assistant to the first coach. A well-known figure in our local sports world, also thanks to the cooperation with handball players from Kielce. This adventure has been going on since mid-2020. “I didn’t think of anything else because I work very well here. The atmosphere at the club is great, the technical staff is great. We have great prospects, development and learning opportunities, because I, for example, am learning all the time – emphasizes Tetelewski’s assistant.
In the new season, Suzuki Korona Handball will play in the Central League created on the model of men’s games. The PGNiG Superleague facilities were merged into a single league and the top teams from each group joined. Players from Kielce, among others, were invited to this group. – We will prove ourselves in the Central League, we will see what we will look like in this competition. We are creating something from scratch, but we want to be at the highest level in Poland. The excitement before the start of the season is still there, the thirst for handball and adrenaline is growing – adds Szymon Żaba-Żabiński.
Tomasz Błaszkiewicz will once again be the goalkeeper coach.
