The Polish volleyball team took first place in the VNL 2023 main stage table.
The Polish volleyball team won the main stage of the Nations League. Coach Stefano Lavarini’s team with a record of 10 wins, 2 losses and 29 points scored was one point ahead of the United States.
On the last day of the tournament in Suwon, the Polish women won with South Korea 3:0. Their victory in this part of the tournament, however, was decided by the game between China and the United States. The Americans had to win to move into first place. After three sets, they were leading 2:1, but the Chinese led in the tie-break. The American team started the decisive match better, but the Asian team showed an incredible winning streak from 3:5 to 12:5, which practically settled the encounter.

The Chinese women won 15:8 and 3:2 in the whole match, and this result meant that the Polish women remained in the leader’s chair. with the same balance of matches (10–2), they were one point ahead of the United States, and Turkey took third place (matches 9–3, 29 points).

Coach Stefano Lavarini’s proteges began their Nations League competition in Antalya, where they beat Canada 3-2, Italy 3-1, Thailand 3-0 and Serbia 3-0. In Hong Kong, the Polish women won with the Dominican Republic 3:1 and Turkey 3:0, lost 0:3 with the Netherlands and finally beat the Chinese national team 3:0. The struggles in the main phase of the Polish volleyball players ended in the South Korean city of Suwon. They lost 2-3 against the American team in the inauguration, then beat Germany 3-2, Bulgaria 3-1 and South Korea 3-0.
Already after the game against the Germans, the Polish volleyball players had a guaranteed participation in the final tournament. It will be played July 12-16 in Arlington, USA, with the top eight teams from the main stage taking part.
