The Englishwoman, who successfully led Canada’s national women’s team for seven years (2011-2018) (bronze at the London and Rio Olympics), has done an incredible job. When he took over on the men’s side, he was at the bottom of the World Federation (FIFA) Top 100 rankings and had to fight his way to the championship in Qatar through three qualifying rounds, facing rivals as exotic as the Cayman Islands, Aruba and Bermuda.
