Leaked documents: WP reveals secret Kremlin order
A number of sensitive Russian documents with sensational revelations are currently on the way.
The Washington Post (WP) has reviewed several of the leaked documents and can now disclose that they contain documentation during meetings between officials inside the Kremlin and Russian political strategists.
According to the documents, the Kremlin gave the order to focus on Germany in order to create a so-called “anti-war movement in Europe”, with the aim of reducing support for war-torn Ukraine.
There should be no documentation of any form of communication between Russian strategists and allies in Germany, but the log nevertheless reveals a possible connection between some parties.
WP reveals that interviews show that at least one person – in the inner circle of German politician Sahra Wagenknecht and the far-right German party “Alternative für Deutschland” (AfD) – can be linked to Russian officials.
“The documents – details largely confirmed by Western government officials – show for the first time direct attempts by the Kremlin to meddle in German politics by trying to form a new coalition between Wagenknecht, the far left and the AfD, as well as supporting protests by extremists left and right against the German government,” reads the Washington Post disclosure.
Wagenknecht recently led a large demonstration outside the Brandenburg Gate, with the intention of stopping arms supplies to Ukraine. Many AfD members were also reportedly present at the protest.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied any Kremlin involvement, and Wagenknecht also denied a possible connection to WP.
