Only eight volleyball players will start the national team training camp in Szczyrk on Monday evening. There is also no coach Stefano Lavarini, who is due to join the team in a few days. In two weeks, the Poles will play two friendly matches with France.
The whites and reds begin the preparations for the season with a greatly reduced team, and this is because most of the representatives are playing decisive matches for the medals in the Polish championships in their clubs. So there are no players from Developres Bella Dolina Rzeszów, BKS Bostik Bielsko-Biała and teams from Łódź – ŁKS Commercecon and Grot Budowlane. In turn, in the final of Serie A, the team of Joanna Wołosz Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano fights with Vero Volley Milan (Magdalena Stysiak).

In Szczyrk on Monday evening there will be players who finished games several days ago. Malwina Smarzek, who spent last season with Brazil’s Osasco Voleibal Clube, is also due to start preparations. The 26-year-old striker was not called up to the national team last season.
“The first lesson is first and foremost a gymnasium and indoor training, they have to get used to the ball again. The players who are still playing in the league will get a few days off after the end of the season and join the team. I have to admit that the length of vacation also depends on how many matches the competition for medals will end,” Lavarini’s assistant Nicola Vettori told PAP.
Two weeks ago, the Italian coach announced a large squad of 30 players for the entire international season. However, not all players may be available to him. ŁKS host Zuzanna Górecka suffered a serious injury in Sunday’s second final match against Developres and left the pitch on a stretcher. The Łódź club have not yet released an official statement regarding his health.
The first event for the Polish national team this year will be the Nations League; The white and red team will begin the competition on May 30 in Antalya, Turkey, where they will face Canada, Italy, Thailand and Serbia.
Before leaving for Turkey, Lavarini’s proteges will play two friendlies against France in Radom on May 24 and 25.
